Why I built this
The busier the business gets, the more marketing stalls.
Working as a PM at a startup and then a large company, I did just about every kind of marketing there is — performance marketing, and marketing with zero budget.
But once I started my own business, it was completely different.
Planning, sales, customer support, operations — all of it was on me. The busier the business got, the more there was to handle, and the more marketing got pushed back.
"Today I'll finally do it."
That's what I'd tell myself every morning. Then I'd look up and the day would already be over.
At first I thought I was just falling short.
But running my own business changed how I saw it.
This wasn't a people problem. It was a process problem.
What the corporate world taught me
Years as a PM at a large company taught me why process matters.
All those processes weren't built because people couldn't be trusted. They existed precisely because everyone was already working hard.
People make mistakes. Work runs late. The person in charge gets pulled onto something else. Something unexpected comes up.
So the process exists to make sure the whole thing doesn't stop just because someone slipped up or fell behind.
Whoever's in charge still gets a consistent result, and a small delay doesn't stall the next step.
That was the job of process.
Process was never a replacement for people — it was what kept things running even when people made mistakes.
Running my own business, I realized marketing needed exactly the same thing.
No matter how much you know you should be marketing, it's the first thing to get bumped when something else comes up. A customer issue. A sudden rush of work.
And marketing is always the first thing pushed back.
In the end, the answer wasn't getting someone to try harder.
It was building something that kept marketing running even when things got busy.
So I built Showdit.
I knew that to grow, I'd need someone to handle marketing.
But finding the right person is hard for a small business — and so is the budget and time to keep working with them consistently.
That's when my thinking changed.
"Instead of finding someone to do marketing, what if I built the system that does the marketing process itself?"
Not someone starting from scratch every time — thinking, making, publishing — but a single flow that handles what marketing needs.
Short-form video was the thing I knew best, so that's where I started.
That's how Showdit began.
Showdit isn't just a tool that makes video easier to make.
It's a system that builds the process itself, so marketing keeps running without a dedicated hire.
From deciding the content idea, to making the video, to publishing it, to the next piece of content.
It turns the marketing work that repeats into one process, so you don't have to handle each piece yourself every time.
The business might get busy.
Something urgent might come up out of nowhere.
Something unexpected might happen.
Marketing shouldn't have to stop along with everything else.
I wanted to take what I learned in the corporate world — moving past "people trying harder" to "a structure that keeps running" — and build it into Showdit.
Everyone is already working hard.
So what matters more isn't telling people to try harder — it's making sure the results of that hard work keep adding up.
A business starts by getting the word out.
I hope other owners like me — who've built something good but keep pushing marketing to last place — don't have to lose sleep over it anymore.
A business doesn't end with building a good product.
It starts with getting the word out to customers.
No matter how good your product or service is, nothing starts if customers never hear about it.
So I wanted to make sure marketing, at least, never gets lost in a busy day.
Focus on what matters most for your business.
Let Showdit turn marketing into a process, and keep it running.
That's why I built Showdit.
